Online education is a concept embraced by people due to its benefits such as easier accessibility thus somehow lessening the stress for students. Aside from this online colleges also provide their students with numerous student grants and opportunities to pursue their education without worrying too much financially.
One of these grants is the Dawn Drake Excellence in Distance Education Scholarship offered by the University of Wisconsin- Platteville. The University has been known to provide their students with quality education at an affordable cost. With bachelor’s degrees in business administration and criminal justice as well as online master’s degree in engineering, project management, and more, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville is considered as one of the leaders in distance learning education. The scholarship will amount to $500 and was created by Dawn Drake as a means of giving back to the online education community.
To be eligible for the scholarship program, the applicant must be a student enrolled in a distance education program under the university. The applicant must have completed at least one class in the program also and seeking to continue with it. A GPA of 3.0 will also be required of the students.
Applicants must download and fill out the application form from the website of University of Wisconsin—Platteville. The form must be submitted together with the proofs for eligibility and a one-page essay to answer the following questions on why he/she believes she is deserving of the scholarship as well as why he/she is obtaining the degree.
